Qualified Income Trust Review
A Qualified Income Trust only works if the right amount goes in every month and every bill comes out of the right account. Our firm reviews your family's income, deductions, and bills, checks them against your documents, and gives you a personalized QIT report and a monthly operating plan.
$250 if you already have a trust. $1,250 to draft the trust, with the full review included. A review fee you have paid is credited toward the drafting fee.

The service
A firm-assisted review of the trust and the monthly money
When a Florida Medicaid applicant's gross monthly income is over the income cap, the income over the cap must go into a Qualified Income Trust every month. Setting up the trust is only the start. Each month the right amount has to move on the right day, the patient responsibility has to be paid, and every bill has to come from the right account.
In a QIT Review, our firm looks at the income, the deductions, the care setting, and the bills, checks the figures against the documents you send, and writes down how the trust and the checking account should work each month.
Your personalized report covers
QIT funding
Whether a Qualified Income Trust is needed, the minimum monthly deposit, and the deposit we recommend.
Estimated patient responsibility
What is likely owed toward care each month after the allowances and deductions DCF applies.
Which account pays what
Each regular bill assigned to the trust or to the checking account, so nothing is paid from the wrong place.
A monthly operating routine
The steps to follow every month, in order: when income arrives, when the transfer moves, and what the trustee pays.
Issues that need attention
Problems building in the numbers, such as money piling up in the trust or checking drifting toward the asset limit.

What happens after you submit a request
- 1
Our office calls within one business day to confirm the details and arrange the fee.
- 2
We tell you which documents to send: income award letters (Social Security, pension, VA), insurance premium notices, and any DCF notice or trust document you already have.
- 3
The firm checks your figures against those documents. The gross Social Security benefit, not the net deposit, is what DCF counts, and that is one of the most common mistakes we correct.
- 4
We prepare your personalized report and monthly operating plan and go over it with you.
Submitting a request does not by itself create an attorney-client relationship.
The report's calculations are estimates, subject to the applicable DCF notice, the terms of the trust, and the firm's review. DCF decides eligibility and the patient responsibility, and no one can promise that Medicaid will be approved.
Need the trust itself?
Our flat fee to draft a Qualified Income Trust is $1,250, and it includes the full QIT Review. If you have a trust that is not working, start with a consultation. A QIT Review fee you have paid is credited toward the drafting fee.
